Opera review: The Hunting Gun and Carmen

BREGENZ is a quiet Austrian resort on the shores of Lake Constance and since 1946 it has held a festival famous for its opera production on a floating stage. Now a spectacular annual event, this year’s 73rd Bregenz Festival creates even more of a splash with Kasper Holten’s revival of Bizet’s Carmen, when Carmen meets her fate by drowning.
